Official Website Description

NEUTROGENA® MOISTURE® Oil-Free SPF 15 combines long-lasting moisturization with effective sun protection.

This non-greasy, dermatologist-tested lotion keeps skin moisturized for 12 hours. Broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 sunscreens protect skin from sun’s harmful rays. Sheer formula absorbs quickly into skin leaving it softer and smoother.

*The above description is for the SPF15 version of the product. The SPF30 version seems to be discontinued. (SPF35 version is available in the States)

Originally I was not really interested in this product, but I ended up purchasing it because I had to wash my face at work and needed a moisturizer immediately. It was fairly cheat at price of $12 when I purchased (Sorry I do not have the exact price right now). Also, what intrigued me was the fact it has SPF30 and it is oil-free. I tend to like oil-free products more because I have oily/combination skin. On the back of the bottle it also says “Won’t clog pores, alcohol-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free”. I break out easily so all these statements sounded pretty good to me.

So here is how it looks like when applied to skin.

It is a pretty simple white cream. When spread onto skin, it’s slightly greasy looking but applies smoothly and does not feel sticky or anything. It dries to really nice and smooth feel but my T-zone would still look somewhat greasy. It does not feel like it’ll be enough moisture for someone with dry skin but it worked fine for my skin for the most part.

It is really reasonable moisturizer with SPF30 so I kind of liked it in the beginning. However, after few days my skin started breaking out. I don’t really want to call it break out because it wasn’t something major. I just had one or two pimples. Still I didn’t want to continue using this product because I think it is simply not enough moisture for my skin in a long run. A lot of people think if your skin is acne-prone, you have to use something less moisturizing and keep your skin dry. But for me it’s the opposite. I have to keep my skin well moisturized so my skin does not excrete excess oil, which is the cause of my break-out.

Overall, I think it’s not a bad product but it didn’t suit my skin. I think it could be a great product for people with oily skin. Now I use this as body lotion in the morning so I don’t need to put on a sun screen.

My final rating: 2.5/5
