My Favorite Tea at the Moment

November 14, 2012 § 2 Comments

Ever since I got pregnant, I’ve been avoiding caffeine. Although 2 cups of coffee a day is okay during pregnancy, I just didn’t wanna risk anything especially during the early stages of the pregnancy. (I’ve got back to some tea and decaf after 35 weeks, but only very little.) So during most of my pregnancy, I’ve been drinking fresh fruit juice or caffeine-free tea like rooibos tea. I’ve tried many different brands including Tazo from Starbucks and Tetley etc. etc… but in the end, I ended up liking PC brand tea from Superstore.

President's Choice Rooibos Tea and Dreamland Tea

PC brand (Stands for President’s Choice) is the house brand of Canadian supermarket called Superstore. They make affordable alternative for, well, almost everything. I remember 5-10 years ago people considered PC brand being cheap and low quality, but I’ve noticed their products had really improved and some of their products are better than name brand products.

So these tea are regular price CA$2.49 for a box (20 individually wrapped tea bags). I try to buy them when they are on sale. They are actually on sale right now for CA$1.79 a box. They have many different kinds of herbal tea. The one in the photo is called Dreamland and it reminds me of Calm Tazo Tea. Of all the herbal tea I can get, my favourite is still rooibos tea. It is great hot, but it is AMAZING cold brewed. I drank rooibos tea like water during the summer. It not only tastes great, but is also great for digestive system.

If you’re looking for a caffeine-free tea, or you just like rooibos tea, definitely try the PC brand rooibos tea!

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant

Description from
LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant uses beta-glucan technology to effectively fight odor while soothing, conditioning, and strengthening the skin. It goes on clean, with no sticky wetness, and delivers long-lasting, luxurious results. [Visit Sephora][Visit Official Website]

I have been using this deodorant for about 5 month now and I’ve been really loving it. It is a simple white solid deodorant, which is made without any parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petro-chemicals, and phthalates.

Inside looks like below:

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant

So the package says that its 100% “healthy” with all natural ingredient, but I have to tell you it’s not organic. I feel like many people are mislead to think all “natural” products are “organic”. It is not true! But anyways, this product does not contain any harsh chemical, which is awesome. Deodorants with aluminum works really well and pretty much stop me from sweating but I’d rather use something more natural. This product has been really effective on stopping me from sweating and not causing any irritation. I am not a huge fan of the strong scent but I think it’s bearable. The one I use is called Pure Vanilla, but I don’t think it smells anything like vanilla. Other scents are even stronger so I picked this one. It’s kind of sad because their perfumes smell so nice.

  • Natural, no harsh chemical
  • Works really well as deodorant
  • A lot of product in the container
  • Cute packaging

  • Strong scent that not everyone enjoy (doesn’t stay though)
  • Very expensive dor a deodorant (CA$20 or up)
  • Not available in many places (Beauty Mark / Sephora)

 My final rating: 4/5
