Cheap Drug Store Skincare!

I recently visited Walmart and Target in Bellingham, WA again. I went there mainly looking for baby stuff. But I came across these 2 items. Sorry for low quality photo čśŽ

Left: Simple Soothing Facial Toner

Right: CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

I bought these 2 items mainly because of their price.

The regular price for┬áSimple Soothing Facial Toner is US$6.99 but Target had instant saving coupon (US$3.99 off) attached to it. So it came to only US$3.00! I’ve been seeing this “Simple” brand in Canada for a while and I was always intrigued. I never actually reached out to it nor did research on it, but the bottle says it’s good for sensitive skin and doesn’t contain harsh chemicals nor alcohol (which is not entirely true because it contains witch hazel and witch hazel contains alcohol). Besides, it is only $3.00 so I wouldn’t be too sad if it doesn’t work out. I tried their light moisturizer on my hand and it felt really nice too. So I will be testing this out and will let you guys know in the future.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is actually for my hubby. He’s been looking for a cheap moisturizer that just moisturise his dry skin. Nothing more. We first found this in Walmart for US$12.97, which we though was an OK price because last moisturizer he was using came with less product for the same price. So we bought it after reading some online reviews saying it’s an great moisturizer for dry skin. Then we went to Target and found the exact same lotion for US$6.48. We were like “what the heck, walmart?” so we bought it at Target and went to return the one we bought at Walmart. Target official website doesn’t have the price for this item and it says “Price vary by store”, so maybe it’s not that cheap in other Target stores. I still think it’s worth it to check them out if you like this moisturizer, because it’s like 50% off from Walmart’s price.

I thought these are great deal so though I’d share with you guys. Have a nice day, lovelies čÖé

Mini Haul from US

September 9, 2012 § Leave a comment

I went to the States last Thursday, hoping to find the stroller that my husband and I had been looking for. We did not find it čśŽ so we did some grocery shopping. Naturally, I picked up a couple of drug store make-up that I’ve been wanting to try.

Hard Candy – Fox in a Box (Spicy & Sweet)

Hard Candy Fox in A Box Spicy & Sweet

I always wanted to try Hard Candy products because they are not available in Vancouver. Their packaging is super cute and reminds me of Japanese make-up products. I wanted to pick more items up but we were running out of time so I just bought this lovely blush. It definitely reminds me of Benefit Box o’ Powder. This┬áparticular┬áshade “Spicy & Sweet” is a pinky peach colour that looks nice on pretty much any skin tone. You can find plenty of swatches on google (click here to see). The pigmentation is great but it is very powdery, meaning when I use it the powder kind of gets everywhere. Benefit Box o’ Powder has a little bit more creamy (or moist) texture. Also, the brush that comes with this is useless… It is thin and flat. Nevertheless, I paid US$6 for this blush instead of US$28 for the Box o’ Powder so I am pretty happy with it and will be interested in buying more shades in the future.

Maybelline┬á– One by One Volume Express Mascara (Satin Black)

maybelline One By One mascara Satin Black

I wanted to buy a new mascara for a while and I was planning on repurchase the Maybelline Falsies, but I saw this mascara on YouTube (Here) and decided to give this one a try. I loved Maybelline┬áDefine-a-Lash mascara and I read this one has the same separating effect. So how bad can it be right? Also, I know Maybelline’s water-proof mascaras always work for my short-stiff-straight Asian lashes so I didn’t hesitate. I paid US$5.96 for this at Walmart but I found the same thing at Target for US$5.04. Darn it! Still, it is way cheaper that the regular price in Vancouver so my mind is at peace čśÇ I used it onece and so far I am loving it. I will post a individual review soon.

So that is all I bought this time. Some of the products I wanted to repurchase was sold out so I couldn’t buy them. I might go down to the States again sometime next month. Hopefully they restock them!

Official Website Description

  • Desire (left) :┬áDelicate bright pink [visit]
  • Madly (right):┬áWarm soft-focus seashell pink [visit]

Hi guys, I haven’t been blogging for a little because I was traveling and super tired. I don’t have too many makeup products with me right now so that it one of the reason too. But I purchased these 2 Nars blushes from one of my friend for only CA$20 approx. because she apparently owns too many blushes. Anyways, I’m super excited to try these blushes because Nars blushes are my absolute favorite.

I haven’t tried them on my face yet (mainly because I don’t have anything to wear them with) but when I swatched them on my hand, Desire seemed much more wearable than it looks but Madly seemed bit too dark for my skin.┬áI will review them when I get back to Canada.

See you all,
